Inpatient Hospice and Palliative Care

Hospice and Palliative Care in Secaucus, NJ

At Optima Care Fountains, we understand the emotional toll that comes with pursuing hospice and palliative care. Regardless of which type of care you choose, our mission is to help optimize your loved one’s emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.

Our hospice care program involves end-of-life care for individuals who are experiencing an advanced, life-threatening or terminal illness. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team of professionals with the goal of managing symptoms and helping patients live as comfortably as possible. Palliative care is more suited for individuals who are suffering from serious but non-life-threatening illnesses. Examples of such illnesses include non-terminal cancer and kidney disease. In many cases, palliative care is provided at the same time as treatment whereas hospice care begins after treatment is stopped and when an individual is in their final 6 months of life.

Both our hospice and palliative care programs are serviced by an interdisciplinary team consisting of the following:

  • Physicians
  • Nurses
  • Nutritional professionals
  • Social workers
  • Psychologists
